The Factor 8 story starts with Lauren’s first sales management role back in the 90s when we still used tape recorders hooked up to desk phones. Fast forward and here’s what LB learned: Most training sucks, selling over the phone is scary to a lot of people at first, virtual sales is a confidence sport and she hated her boss. It was time to do her own thing. Then, Factor 8 was born. The first year was spent doing favors for friends then Factor 8 started to come into focus. We specialized in sales – virtual sales. We were special. Word spread. Today we still act like this outsourced training department for sales leaders and much of our business is referral and repeat business. Totally awesome, right?
MEET THE FACTOR 8 TEAM
All Factor Advisors have at least 10 years of experience in Virtual Sales, have led sales teams, service + sales teams, product management and training teams, OD, inbound, change management, and more. They’re great translators and natural coaches. And, LB says she’d go on vacation with anyone on her team so we accept that as a promise.
A twenty-year veteran of the Inside Sales industry, Lauren has worked as both the Director of Sales and Director of Training while traveling the world to launch Inside Sales teams. Lauren has worked with in-house and outsourced sales teams selling outbound, inbound, via chat, direct, field-teamed, & channel. Her primary industry experience is in IT, Software, and Distribution. Corporate experience & clients include SAP, Sony, Waste Management, Ingram Micro, Grainger, Microsoft & Google. Lauren founded Factor 8 in 2007 and now also Founder of #GirlsClub, an organization committed to getting more women in Sales Management and Leadership.
With over 20 years of experience in sales leadership, Steve has led field & inside sales teams through startup, territory expansion, acquisition campaigns, & product launches. Working with corporate giants like Verizon, IBM, HP, Telstra, and Teletech, Steve excelled in creating sales strategies that fueled growth & profitability. His former roles included Sales, Sales Management, International Senior Director, & GM. Steve joined Factor 8 in 2010 and leads our benchmarking and ISOI line of business.
CHIEF REVENUE OFFICER
Ted Martin is a proven revenue executive, sales coach, and operations leader with over 12 years of hands-on experience. Over the course of his career, Ted has built 14 sales and revenue teams, which have achieved notable results, and established himself as a subject matter expert in building growth-focused revenue teams. Prior to joining Factor 8, Ted was SVP, Revenue at ExecVision, and held VP, Sales roles at WireWheel, WealthEngine, and Tibco (acquired by Vista Equity). Outside of his corporate career, Ted is the father to a 5-year-old future Notre Dame football player and avid Daniel Tiger follower.
VP, CLIENT SUCCESS & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Glenn is an accomplished sales and business leader with a consistent record of success on a domestic and an international level. He has been a driving force and catalyst behind numerous revenue acceleration and business transformation initiatives for companies ranging in size from early-stage growth to established billion-dollar organizations. During his career, Glenn has conducted business across the globe and has worked in the application software, technology, logistics and construction industries. At Factor 8, his expertise is in guiding and coaching his clients on effective use of sales training to hit revenue and growth objectives. Glenn is a graduate of Auburn University and lives in Atlanta, Georgia with his family. When not working Glenn can be found spending time with his family or on the lake.
LEAD SALES ADVISOR
Kelly brings 20 years of hands-on Inside Sales & Sales Leadership expertise to the Factor 8 Team. From a top producing Rep at a Fortune 250 company to a P&L owner for outsourced teams of several hundred reps selling on behalf of IBM, Sony, F5 Networks and Verizon SaaS. He’s led teams of inbound and outbound including account management, acquisition, Cross and Upsell, Service, Renewal, Support, and Quality Assurance. And like several of the Factor 8 team, Kelly has been a Factor 8 client and student! A participant in a vigorous six-month Leadership Academy, Kelly graduated as the MVP of his class.
SENIOR SALES ADVISOR
Angela Salazar is a Sales Advisor at Factor 8 and Program Director for #GirlsClub. With over 14 years of leadership experience, Angela has coached and developed individuals in many different roles, both domestically and abroad. Angela’s passion for identifying potential, cultivating strengths, providing honest constructive feedback, and developing future leaders drives her to be her best. In her free time, Angela loves attending concerts, traveling, and happy hour with friends.
Joining the Factor 8 family in 2021, Brad offers an accomplished resume featuring 20+ years of experience in sales and sales leadership. He has worked with some major logos including Toshiba, Lenovo, IBM, Nissan, Dell, and Square, and has led teams in the arenas of inbound sales, outbound sales, chat, account management, services, renewals, and SaaS. Brad has a passion for people development, sales, and the science of sales communication making him a valuable asset for the Factor 8 team!
Jen brings over 20 years of sales experience, including 10 years of sales leadership. She has built sales teams and crafted sales strategies across various industries; all while being recognized for her ability to drive revenue goals. In 2020, Jen transitioned from sales leadership to coaching and started her own coaching company. Jen joined Factor 8 in 2021 after searching for the perfect combination of coaching and team building to truly let her strengths shine. In her personal time, she enjoys coaching college students on how to elevate their interview skills for internships and jobs, exercising, board games with her husband, while raising two teenagers and two dogs. She’s not sure which is more challenging.
SR. ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE
Suzanne joins the Factor 8 team as a Sr. Account Executive. She has 20 years of experience and has held different sales roles, including Business Development Rep, Account Executive, and Sales Manager. Previously, she spent 10 years working in various leadership positions in the military. She’s passionate about personal growth and helping others improve their sales careers. She loves sales enablement and believes in the importance of being a lifelong learner and student.
Joining the company in 2020, Amy leads all marketing initiatives at Factor 8. She brings 10 years of experience in B2B digital marketing and event organizing and has a knack for building successful marketing programs from the ground up. In her spare time, Amy can be found doting on her little Yorkiepoo, Rigatoni, or out enjoying all of the dining and entertainment Chicago has to offer.
Jennifer joined Factor 8 in 2023 as Marketing Manager. With a background in journalism and communications, she brings 15+ years of experience in marketing and social media across a variety of corporate environments. Efficiency, consistency, attention to detail, and 100% satisfaction are always her biggest goals whether working internally or with clients. In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys exploring the city of Chicago through new restaurants, museums, concerts, and shopping. She also loves traveling to see friends in New York, spending time with her family and two amazing dogs (Shellie, a golden retriever and Chewbacca, a rescued German Shepherd), and creative writing.
CUSTOMER & PRODUCT SOLUTION SPECIALIST
Alicia has over 10 years of sales experience under her belt and brings a fresh perspective to the Factor 8 customer success team. With the bulk of her previous experience occurring in the wedding and events industry, she also possesses strong problem-solving and project management skills as well as a keen eye for detail. The combination of her experience, skillset, and drive to learn makes her a dynamic addition to the team. In her spare time, Alicia loves hunting for construction vehicles with her two sons, snuggling with her mini dachshund, and enjoying all of her chef husband’s culinary creations!
Joining the Factor 8 team in 2020, Kate brings with her years of experience in both sales and executive assistant roles. Her level of efficiency and resourcefulness is impeccable, which makes her an exemplary employee as she is relied upon by the entire Factor 8 team with various administrative tasks. In her spare time, Kate enjoys spending time with her two children, her husband, and their pet bunnies!
